This is my piano arrangement of Time from Inception, by Hans Zimmer.
Time is a delicately simple canon (to add to Hans’s other successful ones, such as Chevaliers de Sangreal from The Da Vinci Code) that grows into a most evocative theme, ended beautifully by a single, lonely piano, repeating the bare minimum of two notes of each chord, backed up by muted strings and vocals.
This piano arrangement is how I naturally ended up playing the track. I wanted to condense the quite large original orchestration into a version that can stand on its own without losing the urge to sway back and forth. Hence, there are a few parts intentionally left out. One aspect that does not translate well to piano is the central rhythmic bass that pounds throughout the track. Attempts to incorporate this in the piano arrangement resulted in too much metallic character.
All the best,
